The Defender is CanAm’s all purpose workhorse vehicle. Built primarily as a work vehicle, the Defender comes in 20 different models: 14 for work, 4 for hunting and 2 for mud.
The mud build, the Defender Max X MR, includes a 3 seater and a 6 seater.
With raised engine air intake and CVT inlet/outlet, you don’t have to worry about stalling out. Plus, a steady flow of fresh air means the engine is always ready to deliver power when needed.
Hopefully you never bury the front end. But just in case you do, the 4,500 lbs winch with synthetic rope is also located significantly higher for just that scenario.
30″ ITP Cryptid tires have a graduated lug height. The lugs grow from 1.5″ in the center to up to 2″ at the shoulder. These tires are powerful performers in mud and snow. An added bonus is that they’re made in the USA.
This vehicles delivers 15″ of ground clearance with full HMWPE skid plates for added protection.
Additional mudder features include heavy duty front steel bumper, aluminum rock slider, Smart-Lok front differential and brake holding mechanism.
Suspension system includes front and rear twin tube gas-charged shocks, front arched double A-arm with sway bar, 10″ travel and rear arched torsional trailing A-arms, 10″ travel.
An adjustable driver’s seat with tilt steering wheel is ideal for driver’s of all sizes. Electronic hill descent control and dynamic power steering (DPS) keep it safe and easy.

Specifically built as a mudder, this special edition model can really churn through the wet stuff. With monster tires, bold red bumpers and minimalist red graphics, this baby is made to turn heads.
Check out that 1 1/2″ tread! You can tell just by looking at them that the 30″ High Lifter Outlaw 2 tires are super aggressive and made for mud. Combine these tires with a heavy gauge full chassis skid plate and a full 15″ of clearance and you get a vehicle ready for almost anything.
Front and rear independent, arched lower A-arms with 10″ travel help smooth the bumps while also helping with the ground clearance.
Half doors have 1″ water drains to let you drain out between mud holes so that you don’t get too soggy.
Front and rear mud bumpers and high mount air intakes round out this mud build. Of course, it also includes a Polaris HD 4,500 lbs synthetic rope winch for the unlikely event that you do get stuck. But, with 82 hp and 1 1/2″ tread tires, you may never even need the winch.
