The name is a bit misleading because the Croom Motorcycle Area is open to both motorcycles and ATVs less than 55 inches wide with a dry-weight of 1,500 pounds or less.

No UTVs, SxS, Jeeps or trucks are allowed.

This is a family friendly ATV park in Florida. Some of the larger more popular ATV parks can have a bit of a party vibe, so this is a nice alternative.

It’s also a lot less expensive which is also pretty attractive. With the campground located within the riding area, this makes for an enjoyable getaway.

This 2,600 acre park has miles of riding trails, some of the trails are marked, but not all of them.

They also have a children’s riding area where children can work on improving their skills without having to worry about more advanced adult riders.

All motorcycles and ATV must have a Florida Forest Service OHV permit. They do sell these onsite at the gatehouse. Croom Riding Permit

If you arrive later than 5pm, you will not be into the campground until the next morning. The camping area is blocked by a gate. You will not be given the gate code when you pay/register online or by phone.

The campground is designed to be used by off roaders, so there’s overflow parking for trailers and extra space for vehicles. Other amenities include two bathhouses with showers and a vehicle wash.

They also rent an 8 wheeled Argo that they call they call the “Mucky Duck”. This amphibious vehicle rental seats 4 and can accommodate children 3 years and older.

You can’t ride your own ATV.

This park is somewhat akin to go kart riding. You rent an ATV, get a brief safety lecture, get a helmet, take a short riding test and then they take you out on their course. You ride in two 35 minute intervals with a 15 minute break in the middle.

This park is 230 acres with miles of varied trail conditions. Riding conditions vary depending on the recent weather – you may experience mud holes, sand, grass and small hills.

Reservations are always required.
